A Few Minutes for a Lifetime, Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
October 2023 From 9th Mehr to 9th Aban, 1402. (1st October to 31st October)
Breast cancer is currently one of the concerning factors for women’s health. It is the most common type of cancer among women and has a significant impact on the lives of many women worldwide every year. Increasing awareness among women plays a crucial role in the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. October has been designated as the global awareness month for breast cancer. Throughout this month, many individuals and local and international organizations make efforts to raise awareness among both women and men about breast cancer. The pink ribbon is also a global symbol of awareness for this disease, representing community awareness.
The goal of naming a month as Breast Cancer Awareness Month worldwide is to increase attention and support for awareness, early detection, treatment, and palliating care for this cancer. Currently, awareness, avoidance of risk factors, and attention to warning signs along with operating screening and early detection programs would remain the most effective ways to control breast cancer.
The importance of early detection of cancer on the treatment process and the treatment methods chosen by physicians is highly impactful and patients may have shorter, less costly, and easier treatments. Therefore, during the awareness month, efforts are focused on encouraging clinical breast examinations, mammography, ultrasound, and more.
In Iran, from the 9th of Mehr to the 9th of Aban each year (1st October to 31st October), a nationwide breast cancer awareness campaign is held to increase awareness and sensitivity among women regarding their health. Behnam Daheshpour Charity Organization, in line with its organizational mission in breast cancer prevention, has always prioritized raising awareness about prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
In honor of October, we try to conduct the “Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign” with the slogan “A Few Minutes for a Lifetime” to raise public awareness about the risk of breast cancer and encourage early detection.
We hope to take a step forward every day on this path, and all interested individuals are invited to support Behnam Daheshpour Charity Organization by sharing educational content and information to help build a world without fear of cancer.
